How DuraFlex Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

• DuraFlex Pro termination collars crack at the weld seam. The Pro series uses a 316Ti stainless collar that expands and contracts aggressively in San Jose’s temperature swings - 45°F mornings to 85°F afternoons in spring and fall. After 6-10 years, the circumferential weld at the base of the collar develops a hairline split. Water enters, freezes, and pushes the collar off-square. We remove the damaged collar, inspect the flue wall beneath with a camera, and install a new OEM collar or a heavier-gauge aftermarket equivalent depending on what the photo record shows.
• DuraFlex SW (stainless wrap) terminations collect water in the wrap cavity. The SW series is a flexible liner wrapped in a stainless mesh jacket.
